Why Super Bowl Week
During Super Bowl Week in Miami, The Dan Patrick Show broadcasts live daily from the host city, featuring extended programming, live audiences, and a rotating lineup of high-profile guests from across sports and entertainment.
ARCY was invited to take part in this coverage by creating original murals live on site throughout the week, with each completed artwork unveiled the following morning during the national broadcast.
The Live Activation
Over the course of Super Bowl Week, ARCY created five large-scale portrait murals on location in Miami. Each mural was completed overnight and physically brought onto the broadcast set the following morning, where it was revealed live on air in front of a studio audience and millions of viewers nationwide.
Creative Direction: Miami Sports Legacy
Because the broadcast originated in Miami, the creative direction centered on athletes and figures closely tied to the city’s sports history. Subjects included Michael Irvin (University of Miami), Dan Marino (Miami Dolphins), Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat), and Don Shula.
Each mural blended photorealistic portraiture with ARCY’s signature paint-splash style, designed to read clearly on camera while maintaining depth and energy in person.
Live On-Air Reveal: Michael Irvin
One of the murals, a portrait of Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin in his University of Miami uniform, was unveiled live during the broadcast while Irvin was a guest on the show.
The reveal took place on air, followed by an in-studio reaction and an in-person presentation of the artwork.
Responding in Real Time
During Super Bowl Week, national news broke that Kobe Bryant had died in a helicopter crash. In response, the creative direction for the week shifted immediately.
ARCY created a tribute mural honoring Bryant, incorporating symbolic elements to reflect both legacy and loss. The piece was unveiled live on air, marking an unscripted and emotionally resonant moment during the week’s coverage. A butterfly was subtly included in the composition to represent Gianna Bryant.
